  • 7 June 2022: Added a photo of a diesel railcar heading out of Newbury on the LVR branch line. Also tidied up some of the copy.
  • 19 March 2022: Added new photos  of the fate of Boxford station's shelter. Also new photos of trains on the last day of operation on BR Years page.
  • 3 February 2022: Added dedication on front page to site originator Ken Tarbox, RIP.

Copyright policy

Material on this site is for the general public about the history and operation of The Lambourn Valley Railway.

The material within the LVR site has been forthcoming from private individuals and from personal collections supplied by second and third family generations, original sources unknown.

In many cases it has proved virtually impossible to trace copyright ownership given that some of the pictures are now over 100 years old. Where possible, photos have been credited, but in the event of any unintentional breach of someone else's copyright, the copyright owner is requested to provide details by email and the material will be credited or removed accordingly.

Please bear in mind that this site has been designed purely out of a wish to preserve and make available
the story of a small part of railway history and not for personal gain in any form whatsoever.
